Hands Across The City of Hampton or HATCH Youth Fest '22 was another project initiative. It featured an all-youth group of young entrepreneurs. Vendors from all over the city and surrounding cities participated. GACC's partnership with Deen Ball Sports Inc a 501(c)3 and Hampton Parks, Recreation and Leisure services, made the event another success. It is now planned to be an annual event
Held several district-wide meetings with HPD
that resulted distribution of safety literature, revamping of Neighborhood Watch Training Modules and installation of signage and streetlights.
Recognizing our seniors with a complete meal and our educators with sweet treats. All to show our appreciation and respect. The looks on those faces were priceless.
This initiative asked the students from the district to learn more about how Aberdeen came into existence and prepare a presentation. Aberdeen Elementary, Lindsay Middle, Hampton and Bethel High schools participated. The project excitedly engaged the students and was a tremendous success.
Seeds to Read. Where we donated over 1500 brand new books to A Plus Tutorial, a math and other educational tutoring service that helps youth from underserved communities.
Assisted organizations l with donations from Rosie's like: Historical Foundation of Aberdeen Gardens, Tuskegee Airmen Group, Peninsula Agency on Aging, Family Restoration Services, DBSI and many other non-profit organizations and churches.
Provided meals, clothes and donations to burned out families in need.
Donated school supplies to Aberdeen Elementary.
Obtained back to school sneakers and supplies for a family whose patriarch is undergoing major health concerns.
Partnered with Emmaus Church HRVA as they hosted three "Trunk or Treat" events. Obtained sponsorship funds from Uncle Nick's Meats and Rosie's for the events
